The Spanish Automatic Committee (CEA), a non-profit association, a national member of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), holds the Jornadas de Automática every year since 1977. CEA is formed by numerous private partners and institutions in the field of automation, process control and new technologies. The Jornadas de Automática are organized by different universities or research centers of our country, the purpose of which is to bring together teachers, researchers, students and professionals in the field of Automation to deal with issues related to teaching and research (among others, automation and control, education, instrumentation, robotics, modeling and simulation of systems, etc.). The event constitutes a meeting point between those of us who have Automatics as the axis of our professional activity, both in the field of research as well as in teaching or business. It also represents a discussion forum in which to present results, discuss ideas and expose projects related to this branch of engineering.
